Paul A. Ricketts M.A.
I am a Registered Marriage & Family Therapist in Ontario (#13156).
As an Approved Supervisor with the Ontario Association for Marriage
& Family Therapy (A.A.M.F.T.), I am qualified to train and supervise
Marriage & Family Therapists who are working towards becoming
Registered Marriage & Family Therapists (Clinical Membership). I am
also a Registered Sex Therapist. This voluntary registration is with
the Board of Examiners of Sex Therapists and Counsellors in Ontario
(B.E.S.T.C.O.).
I graduated from the California Family Study Centre in 1985. I
completed a 2 year Internship at the Kitchener Interfaith
Counselling Centre and a 1 year Externship at the Guelph-Wellington
Counselling Centre. Following my Externship, I worked in the area of
Children’s Mental Health at Dellcrest Children’s Centre in Toronto
for 1 year. Since 1987 I have been employed at Hamilton Health
Sciences, which is affiliated with McMaster University. Currently I
am the manager of a Children’s Mental Health Program for children
and youth with severe emotional and/or behavioural difficulties, on
a part-time basis.
In my private practice I work with couples, children and adolescents
and individuals. For the past 13 years I have conducted custody and
access assessments, both privately (Section 30 assessments under the
Children’s Law Reform Act) and for the Office of the Children’s
Lawyer (under the Courts of Justice Act).
Since 1990, I have conducted a group program for Male Batterers at
the Maplehurst Correctional Centre. Prior to this, I was on contract
to deliver anger management training to the inmates of the Guelph
Correctional Centre for 2 years.
On a personal note, I have been married for 21 years (to the same
woman) and have 2 children. |
